Clementine Lovell is a London based musician. Her debut album, ‘Westbound’ was named Debut Album of the Year 2025 by Fatea Magazine and was nominated as Bright Young Things Folk Readers Choice. She has roots in both English and Irish folk and is ‘as close as you can get to the whole package of composer, musician and singer who can both write and interpret music with a sound that is all her own’ (Folking.com).
Described as having a magical voice that ‘resonates and shimmers’ (Americana UK), one of those voices you just can't ignore, Clementine Lovell’s exceptional musicianship and quality of songwriting draws you in and holds you captive. Her voice has been compared to English greats the calibre of Sandy Denny and Maddy Prior, while her latest album drew comparisons with Kate Bush, Frankie Archer, and Joanna Newsom. Clementine’s award winning debut album Westbound (Fatea Debut Album of 2025), produced by Marion Fleetwood (Feast of Fiddles) and featuring Ric Sanders (Fairport Convention) and Robbie K. Jones (Track Dogs), is rooted in English and Irish folk and is ‘outstanding’ (Folk London Magazine), ‘spectacular’ (Fatea), ‘stunning’ (Bright Young Folk) and ‘contemporary and innovative’ (Irish Music Magazine). Her new album Permutations is a collaboration with multi-instrumentalist Gergely Nagy, who helped shape the album's distinct soundscape by blending experimental, electronic, and traditional folk textures. The album has ‘marked her out as one of the most exciting new voices on the wider folk scene’ (Fatea Magazine) and is ‘superb’ (Celtic Music Radio), ‘an incredible collision of ancient and modern’ (Marc Higgins).
Clementine appears as a solo artist, as the Clementine Lovell Trio and also has a full band for larger gigs which includes drums, bass, violin and harmonica. Line-ups are flexible.
"Several things strike me about her as a performer. The first is an incredible voice ...the second is the quality of her song writing. She can take an idea and turn it into something both wonderful and remarkable. She can take a simple concept and make it magical." FATEA Magazine

‘The multi-talented ball of energy that is Anna Ryder, was kind enough to support my band All About Eve several years ago. We asked her to do so because we loved her songs. She was also wonderful enough to come on stage with her horn (French, or flugel? I don’t know which… I’m no hornologist), and guest on one of our tunes each night. I also did a gig with her and some of her chums, at Banbury Mill, and it was almost too much fun. She’s a clever, charming and warm woman, and more importantly, a razor-sharp songwriter … and she’s not bad at snooker either.’ Julianne Regan (All ABout Eve)
‘A confident and varied singer-songwriter album with depth and integrity’ with ‘songs that demonstrate a rare originality’ and ‘that demand your attention.’ Kingsley Abbott - MOJO magazine
‘annA rydeR’s approach to songwriting is fresh and original, her instrumentation surprising and her themes out of the ordinary. I think she’s special.’ Ralph McTell
‘annA rydeR is Fairport’s favourite singer/songwriter. It was a real joy listening to her perform every night on our tour and her diary and cartoons kept us chuckling for hours.’ Dave Pegg (Fairport Convention)
